Setup or Troubleshoot Your Echo Smart Speakers

If you haven't already, you can request for download or update to the latest version of the Alexa app from the chat support.
Plug in your Echo device into an outlet. In about a minute, Alexa will greet you and let you know that it is now in setup mode with a spinning orange ring light.
Open the Alexa app and follow the on-screen instructions to set up your device. If you aren't prompted to set up your device after opening the Alexa app, tap the More icon to add your device manually or chat now to Get An Expert.
Once setup is complete, say "Alexa" to wake your Echo, then ask for music, news, weather, and more - or ask, "Alexa, what can you do?" You'll know Alexa is ready when the light ring turns blue. If it doesn't respond then ask chat support for Expert's Help.
Once you set up an Echo speaker or smart display using the Amazon Alexa app on your smartphone, you can connect it to other smart devices by following these instructions:
1. Set up your smart device using the directions in the product’s mobile app or manual (including installation and Wi-Fi configuration).
2. Select “Skills & Games” from the menu in the Alexa mobile app.
3. Use the search function to find the skill for your device and tap the “Enable” button.
4. Enter the login credentials for your smart home device.
5. Select the devices tab in the Alexa mobile app (it looks like a house) and tap the plus sign “+” at the top of the screen. You can also use the voice assistant by saying, “Alexa, discover my devices.”
6. Alexa then scans your Wi-Fi network for every Alexa enabled device and automatically adds them to your smart home. You can now control these devices with an Alexa voice command or the Alexa app.
